Nose Creek Softball recognizes that the contribution of volunteers is
immeasurable and without volunteers, minor softball would not exist.
Collectively, we have a profound effect on the experience of over 300 young
athletes every year. Due to the lack of volunteers, a policy has been implemented
starting with the 2012 season.
A $100.00 volunteer post-dated deposit cheque will be required from each
registered family*. Each family, regardless of how many children they have
registered in the program, is expected to contribute a minimum of 4* hours
within the season for which they are registered. The deposit will only be
processed if the family does not complete and report the minimum number of
volunteer hours by the cutoff date. Families that cannot volunteer in any capacity
can indicate so when registering and provide a $100* payment at that time.
*Families with athletes in the Timbits and main program (U10 to U19) will need to
meet the volunteer criterion for their eldest child (U10 to U19 athlete).
A $200.00 volunteer post-dated deposit cheque will be required from each
registered family at the first evaluation in March. Each family, regardless of how
many children they have registered in the program, is expected to contribute a
minimum of 6 hours within the season for which they are registered. The deposit
will only be processed if the family does not complete and report the minimum
number of volunteer hours by the cutoff date. Families that cannot volunteer in
any capacity can indicate so when registering and provide a $200 payment at that
time. Families not obtaining their full volunteer credit will have their volunteer
deposits cashed following the cutoff date noted on the Nose Creek Softball
website. It is the responsibility of each family to track and report their volunteer
time. Information on how to do so along with deadline dates to report volunteer
time will be posted on the Nose Creek Softball website. In years when there is a
Fall date for the casino, families will have the option of applying credit for working
a casino to the season in the same year that the casino occurs or to the upcoming
season. Information about key volunteer positions will be posted on the Nose
Creek Softball website.
